Karen Nixon,
President
Karen Nixon is the founder and President of Nixon Benefits, a leader
in providing companies with innovative benefit plan options. For almost
two decades, Karen has been a recognized leader in the insurance industry.
She held senior management positions with major health insurance companies,
including Health Net and Kaiser. Karen was responsible for sales and
retention of Kaiser’s commercial business in both Southern California
and Northern California. At Health Net, she was charged with re-organizing
the company’s commercial business unit, as an agent of change.
This depth of knowledge enables her to negotiate accurate and fair
pricing for health and welfare plans. From the carrier side, Karen
analyzed how brokers and consultants served their clients. This insight
enabled her to create a company with a more customized and “hands
on” service approach.
Karen is often asked to speak on the future of employer-sponsored
healthcare and ways employers can control their insurance costs. Most
recently, she was a guest speaker for Southern California Manufacturers'
Benefits and Compensation Group, Anaheim Economic Development Conference,
Corporate Partners of U.C. Irvine, Employers Group and National Human
Resources Association.
Ms. Nixon received her BA and MBA from U.C. Irvine, and holds the
MHP (Managed Healthcare Professional) designation from the Health
Insurance Association of America
